Ferrovial Gamuda Joint Venture (FGJV) has been tasked to deliver the Coffs Harbour Bypass project to improve connectivity, road transport efficiency and improving safety for motorists. The project consists of 14km of dual highway, 17 bridges, 2 interchanges, and 3 tunnels including associated buildings and miscellaneous structures. The bridge structures included Integral precast planks, multi-span Super-T structures, multi-span steel boxed pedestrian bridge structures over creeks, roads and rail founded on pad footings, bored piles on pile caps and monopiles.
Dex has just completed assisting the Ferrovial Gamuda Joint Venture in the Coffs Harbour Bypass Project with Value Engineering with the Construction team, Design Compliance, and the design team in delivering their design packages. This included reviews of the design packages to ensure standardisation of structural design elements was completed, better maintenance outcomes for the clients, reduction of steel in the building structures and reinforcement for the bridge structures and completing design changes for constructability.
